Solar Eclipse at Sea – The Ultimate Viewing Experience
On August 12, 2026, the sky puts on a show you don’t get twice in a lifetime — and where you watch it from makes all the difference.
From land, your view is limited. Buildings, mountains, haze near the horizon… all of it can ruin the moment.
At sea? You remove the obstacles.
Out on the water, you get a clean, uninterrupted western horizon, cooler air, and a stable viewing position — exactly what you need for a smooth, complete eclipse experience.
From our location along the coast, the eclipse will reach up to ~99% coverage of the Sun — meaning the sky will darken dramatically, temperatures drop, and the entire atmosphere shifts into something… unreal.
Not totality — but close enough to feel the world pause.
🚤 The Experience
We take you out on a spacious catamaran, timed precisely with the eclipse phases:
- Departure before the event to reach optimal viewing position
- Live guidance from astronomers during the eclipse
- Maximum eclipse observed from open sea
- Return after sunset, as the light slowly comes back
No crowds. No blocked views. No chaos.
Just the sky doing its thing — properly.
🌞 What’s Included
- Catamaran cruise during the eclipse
- Carefully selected observation position at sea
- Certified solar eclipse glasses (ISO compliant)
- Live explanations and guidance
- Relaxed onboard atmosphere with space to enjoy the event
- A genuinely rare experience you won’t replicate easily

🌒 Solar Eclipse 2026 – Book Your Catamaran Experience
On August 12th, 2026, just before sunset, we’ll witness a rare and breathtaking astronomical event over the Mediterranean coast of Spain: a solar eclipse.
And there’s no better place to watch it than from the open sea aboard a catamaran.
🛥️ Eclipse at Sea: Departures from 3 Ports
We are planning special eclipse cruises from:
📍 Cartagena
📍 Torrevieja
📍 Lo Pagan for Mar Menor Cruise
-
⏱️ Departure time: 18:30
-
⌛ Duration: 3 hours
-
🌇 Perfect view of the western horizon for the eclipse
-
Includes: certified eclipse glasses + extras depending on boat (e.g. drink included in Cartagena)
⚠️ Important: This eclipse will not be total from our location, but it will be a deep partial eclipse (~98%), occurring just before sunset.
It will be a spectacular show — as long as you have a clear view of the horizon.
🕶️ A Once-in-a-Lifetime Event… on the Mediterranean
Spain will experience several solar eclipses between 2026 and 2028 — but this is the only one visible like this from the Mediterranean coast.
-
The 2027 total eclipse will only be visible from the southwest of Spain: Huelva, Cádiz, Tarifa, Ceuta, and Melilla.
-
The 2028 eclipse will be annular (not total), and while it crosses parts of the southeast, it happens in January, with high risk of bad weather and lower visual impact.
☀️ The August 2026 eclipse is unique: deep, dramatic, during summer, at sunset — and perfectly visible from the sea.
An eclipse sinking into the horizon as you float on open water… this won’t happen again.
⚓ Why watch the eclipse from a boat?
-
🌅 The Sun will be very low in the sky during the eclipse, and from land, it may vanish behind hills, buildings, or trees.
-
🌊 From the sea, you’ll have a completely unobstructed view of the western horizon.
-
☁️ And if clouds appear at the last minute, your boat can move to find a clear patch of sky — something land-based viewers can’t do.
This is the ultimate eclipse-viewing experience.
Don’t miss your chance.
